These are 6 powerful steps to take to confirm God’s call upon you. Are you sensing a call from God? Have you already received a call from God and you want to confirm it? Then this article will help you. It’s straight forward. Let’s begin.

1. Pray for Guidance and Clarity to Confirm God’s Call

Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal His will and purpose for your life. It’s God who is calling you, therefore in His hands are the blueprint of the assignment. Don’t try to use your mind to navigate through. Use God’s mind.

  • Scripture: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)

2. Study the Bible Regularly

Immerse yourself in God’s Word, which provides direction and clarity. In the Word of God, you will find the deals of God with men. This will be a strong guide for you in your call. Remember what He told Joshua in the book of Joshua 1:8.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. – Joshua 1:8

  • Scripture: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

3. Seek Wise Counsel

Discuss your sense of calling with trusted mentors, pastors, and spiritual leaders. These people have gain some experience and they can help direct your path. One very important thing for seeking counsel from these people is that you will eliminate the mistakes they have made. And what took them long time to achieve it will take you short time.

  • Scripture: “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14)

4. Evaluate Your Gifts and Talents

Reflect on the spiritual gifts and talents God has given you and how they align with the potential calling. The gifts and talents you carry, speak a lot about the kind of calling you have received from God. Because they are the tools you will need to accomplish whatever you are called for.

  • Scripture: “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (1 Peter 4:10)

5. Consider the Impact on Others

Reflect on how your calling will impact others and the Kingdom of God. This can be a motivator or drive to fulfill your God-given ministry. Look into your real life, the areas where you feel at ease in helping people or your surroundings. Assess the impact you have created in the lives of people. Are they promoting God’s kingdom? Are they changing human lives to a positive direction? Then you need to pay attention to it. Take it into prayer and pray to God for clarity.

  • Scripture: “For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.” (Romans 14:7)

6. Assess Your Peace and Joy

True calling from God often brings a deep sense of peace and joy, even in the face of challenges. Pay every attention to this. Always look for the inner peace, even in difficulties or challenging times. It’s a strong indicator of your calling. The inner peace and joy gives you will give you the urge to go in carrying the assignment.

  • Scripture: “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)
